In the Central Portuguese (BEIRA LITORAL) mountain area there are 3 rainy seasons. January, May (thunderstorms) and September (changing to autumn)

January
- is usually wet and can be cold. Frost is a rare occurence.
February - the daffodils are out and blooming and it can be quite warm again.
March - can be a scorcher and everyone is out on the land planting the potatoes
April - is variable - has been very cold and misty and unbearably hot - difficult to predict
May -is lovely - warm, sunny and birds singing - except for the occasional thunderstorms and
rain - the perfect month
June - nice but heading into the heat of summer
July - hot and sunny
August -very hot and dry.
September - a bit disturbed, variable, warm and sunny , stormy days , cold windy days
October - more settled than September - no rain but the heat of summer is over - can be quite pleasant
November - usually very nice - warm and sunny but not too hot
December - getting colder but still with sunny hot days - latter half can be cold and wintery.
