to this wonderful, exciting, beautiful and friendly country !
Central Portugal is a magical place, wild and rugged, soft and safe,
high and low, hot and cold, angry and forgiving, old and young. Here
one can really "feel" every aspect of life in its full glory, if one dares !
By those "in the know", this area is called "undiscovered paradise" !
At first glance one might think it somewhat scruffy and untidy, but
let that not deceive you ! Explore the byways for just one week
you  cannot but, become a "Portugal-addict" if adventure is what
tugs at your heart.
Words never fail me when people ask me about Central Portugal,
where I have lived for many years. I love this country with a
passion but am going to remain brief.
Words  cannot describe the insiduously invigorating smell of
eucalyptus that is eternally present. Words cannot relay the
feeling  of utter peace and quiet one can experience sitting
on a rock in the  mountains- almost feeling a closeness to God.
Words can never  describe one's feeling of awe at the night
sky over the Serra da Estrela (Mountains of the stars) !
